The person holding the Consulting Architect / Engineer position has the following responsibilities:

• Work with project teams to design/develop/test good java based products
  
• Java Swing/SWT GUI development
  
• Thorough understanding of Object Oriented Design – UML expertise required
  
• Provide expertise in two or more of the following areas:
  
• Java based systems – J2EE expertise required
  
• Unix based systems
  
• Windows based systems
  
• Relational Database systems
  
• Usability
  
• Stay current with what’s happening in the industry
  
• Assist with ongoing efforts to continually improve company software development process in order to favorably impact:
  
• Client satisfaction with our products
  
• Time to Market o Development cost
  
• Developer job satisfaction

• At least 3 years work experience as a software engineer since Bachelor’s degree is desired. However excellent recent grads will be considered.
  
• Expert level experience with most if not all of the following. Candidates lacking experience in any of the following must be able to quickly come up to speed as required:
  
• Strong java programming skills
  
• Strong Swing programming skills
  
• Ability to quickly develop expertise in a problem domain– e.g. trading applications
  
• Strong object oriented design skills
  
• UML
  
• Experience developing software in Unix or PC/NT environment
  
• Application Servers – familiarity with JBoss is a plus
  
• Web Servers
  
• Strong interpersonal skills, works well with a team
